Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Prevention Specialist to work in the Joliet, IL area.


  • Plan and implement presentations and youth prevention education curriculum for youth.
  • Travel to various schools and other locations within the site plan area for meetings, curriculum implementation, outreach, and other grant-related activities.
  • Plan and implement programs for adults.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials.


  • Position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or a behavioral health related field.
  • Must have experience working with youth.
  • Must have good public speaking, organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  • Additional knowledge in online reporting systems preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and school systems is preferred.
  • Position requires ability to travel to various schools and other locations in the site plan area.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable.
  • Must obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
