Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a knowledgeable, full-time Accounts Receivable Supervisor to work at our Bloomington, IL facility.


  • Supervise Accounts Receivable representatives, Financial Intake Representatives and Payeeship Representatives.
  • Make recommendations regarding A/R procedures and compliance matters.
  • Maintain systems for effective billing and accurate billing demographics.
  • Manage the cash application process.


  • Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration; or a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in a healthcare organization or related experience.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience including hiring, annual reviews, training and coaching.
  • Must have a working understanding of accounts receivable processes including billing of private, state, grant payers, payment posting and collection practices, and policies governing collections.
  • Knowledge of client admissions and discharge systems preferred.
  • Requires advanced computer skills and experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with an automated AR system preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate and professional business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
