Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Representative to work at our Bloomington, IL facility.


  • Apply all cash and insurance payments daily in the electronic health record (EHR) as received to appropriate client accounts and waterfall to the next appropriate funder as required.
  • Apply Medicaid, Federal Probation, United Way, and other payments to appropriate client accounts in the electronic health record (EHR) as received.
  • Respond to client inquiries on self-pay balances.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in cash application and the collection process.
  • Strong keyboarding skills including data entry into a variety of databases including an electronic health record or electronic billing system is required.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  • Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and discretion with HIPAA and other confidential information required.
  • Must be able to work independently and manage several tasks at the same time.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse group of people and maintain appropriate working relationships exercising good judgment and discretion.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
