Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Senior Maintenance Worker to work at our Granite City, IL facility, servicing the Metro East and St. Louis, MO areas.


Building Maintenance

  • Prioritize work orders and direct work of other maintenance and utility staff in assigned locations, i.e. Bloomington, Belleville, Granite City, Maryville.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the buildings, building systems (HVAC), equipment and grounds.
  • Perform basic carpentry repairs/painting.
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks.
  • Prepare client rooms for incoming client(s).
  • Maintain tools and supplies.
  • Trouble-shoot and adjust HVAC.
  • Perform minor electrical tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of vehicles.
  • Complete assigned Maintenance Work Request(s) (MWR).


General Duties

  • Empty and haul trash (where applicable).
  • Maintain carpet (spot clean) and ceramic/tiled floors – strip, buff, wax, and repair.
  • Perform room setups including furniture move and equipment moves.



  • Unload and stock food (where applicable).
  • Stock supplies as needed (where applicable).



  • Maintain walks, parking lots and grounds keeping litter free.
  • Snow removal (sidewalks).


Other duties:

  • Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities, including but not limited to, financial and client information.
  • Other duties as assigned. May include but not be limited to custodial and grounds maintenance.


  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years building maintenance experience including in carpentry, plumbing and mechanical systems
  • Must possess good communication and customer service skills with a minimum of three (3) years experience in a lead role.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment is helpful.
  • Must be able lift and push a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
