    Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Purchasing Assistant to work at our Granite City, IL location, servicing the Metro East and St. Louis, MO areas.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain inventory on all standard office, medical, janitorial, and maintenance supplies.
    • Fill supply requests from central and remote locations.
    • Place weekly food orders.
    • Assist in maintaining working condition of office equipment.
    • Prepare purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment as needed.
    • Assist in placing orders with vendors. Make purchases in store.
    • Assist in resolving inconsistencies related to purchase orders and invoices.
    • Responsible for receiving at central location and verification of receiving documents from remote locations.
    • Exemplify the organization’s mission of “Improving quality of life through excellence in service” when interacting with management, coworkers, internal customers, and vendors.
    • Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least two (2) years’ experience in purchasing and/or inventory control (i.e., verifying requisitions/authorizations, placing orders, managing supply requests, replenishing stock, etc.).
    • General knowledge of office procedures, use of computer and office equipment, data entry and filing required.
    • Basic skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, internal customers, and vendors.
    • Must have attention to detail, good organizational and customer service skills.
    • Must have valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable and must be able to lift/push 25 pounds.
    • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
