    Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time, 12 Month Early Intervention Specialist to work closely with juvenile probation/parole aftercare within the community in Peoria School District in Peoria, IL.

    Responsibilities

    • Screen selected students for behavioral health problems and other identified concerns and make appropriate intervention recommendations.
    • Conduct structured, evidence-based intervention sessions with students in the school setting to help address behavioral health issues.
    • Engage in outreach services to help promote the SBS program to referral sources.
    • Provide support for students in the school who may simultaneously be involved in substance abuse treatment (OP/IOP) and/or who are returning to school after residential treatment; interact with treatment professionals to assist in transition.
    • Provide students, parents and school personnel with education and support related to substance abuse and other identified concerns.
    • Obtain appropriate permissions and/or consents for students in SBS program.
    • Conduct classroom presentations, group sessions, and/or other trainings as directed by the Program Coordinator or as requested by schools / referral sources.
    • Maintain records of clients and services provided to enable Chestnut to bill third party payers, as required by the program.
    • Assist in completing quarterly reports in a timely fashion. Assist in writing annual grant proposals. 
    • Provide court testimony as requested.
    • Attend IASAP and other trainings and acquire IASAP certification, if needed.
    • Participate in SBS development activities to improve services to students, school and community.
    • Attend and participate in all program and staff meetings and training as assigned.
    • Recognized by the Program and Clinical Directors as a peer leader to informally advise staff (clinical mentor) and provide clinical guidance to less experienced staff.
    • Demonstrate project management capability or leadership potential.
    • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a master’s degree in a human services field.
    • Illinois licensure of LCSW, LCPC or LMFT preferred.
    • Good organizational and communication skills required (oral and written).
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, private automobile insurance and must meet qualifications for agency auto insurance coverage.
    • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Prefer experience with an electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
