Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a part-time Residential Recovery Technician to work 11:00pm to 7:30am on an as needed basis in our Crisis Residential Unit at our Granite City, IL location, servicing the Metro East and St. Louis, MO areas.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required paperwork on each consumer in accordance with program and agency policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Chestnut’s opening paperwork, mental health assessments, individual treatment plans, progress notes, and applicable grant requirements; including the use of recovery language.
  • Provide services identified in individual treatment plan that are consumer driven and integrate evidence based practice concepts, including motivational interviewing and therapeutic alliance, including maintaining a minimum of assigned service level expectation.
  • Promote the recovery model of treatment including hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness and spirituality/connectedness by assisting consumers with regaining control over their own lives through self-directed recovery.
  • Provide for referral and linkage to recommended community resources especially involving support networks and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide advocacy, both consumer and system centered, to ensure that basic rights of consumers are protected and promote consumer self-advocacy.
  • Assist consumers to identify individual strengths, resources, preferences, choices and natural supports.
  • Assist and support consumers with active rehabilitation by teaching skills that empower and build capacity within themselves.
  • Promote positive interactions with the community to sustain a favorable program reputation including serving as a liaison with landlords and Chestnut on behalf of the consumers to make certain compliance with maintenance, safety and funding issues to ensure proper coordination.
  • Function as a team member, attend meetings and consumer staffings, participate in program development activities and provide support and backup to other team members, including:
    • Attending and documenting 100% of monthly, required Rule 132 supervision, if not a LPHA, and
    • Attending all mandatory training and CEU requirements, if applicable, utilizing Relias when applicable.
  • Provide basic first aid to consumers as indicated, using Universal Precautions.
  • Answer in-coming phone calls and messages, receive and distribute mail, and observe video surveillance equipment where applicable, to resolve all inquiries as indicated.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the Mental Health Code and Confidentiality Act and its application to consumer services.
  • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.
  • Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and consumer information.
  • Provide other duties as required, assigned, or specifically negotiated with supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have demonstrated skills in human services and in the field of services to adults.
  • Must also have demonstrated the ability to work within the organization structure and accept supervision, and have demonstrated the ability to work constructively with consumers, treatment resources and the community.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable (when applicable).
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
