Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Credit Counseling Services Coordinator for our Bloomington, IL facility.

We provide fully integrated care for all of our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Responsibilities

  • Render direct service to clients, which include seeing clients in accordance with the needs of the community.
  • Develop a working relationship with the credit granting community.
  • Organize own time and effort to meet assigned situations and work demands.
  • Increase professional expertise and refine skills.
  • Understand the mission, philosophy, goals, and programs of the agency.
  • Create opportunities to describe the philosophy and programs of the agency to community groups.
  • Provide in-service training to other staff around particular interests and expertise.
  • Make referrals to available community resources when appropriate.
  • Perform all record keeping functions related to the position.
  • Perform all administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Render supervision as secondary assignment if so designated.
  • Maintain accreditation status with NFCC.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree finance, business administration, accounting, or related field and relevant experience in credit/lending, retail credit, financial counseling.
  • Knowledge of consumer laws, collection, and bankruptcy also desirable.
  • Must have good interpersonal communication skills with the ability to develop working relationships within the credit granting community.
  • Position requires good organizational skills, practical knowledge of computer use, and supervisory skills.
  • Must have the ability to manage complex bill paying and collecting procedures, and assist individuals in developing practical and manageable debt payment plans.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
