Chestnut is seeking a counselor to work in the outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use treatment programs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate skills and educational groups as per program requirements.
  • Conduct diagnostic and assessment evaluations with clients and their families and write bio-psychosocial reports with structured guidance and oversight.
  • Plan and implement treatment plans for clients under structured guidance and oversight.
  • Handle admissions and discharges efficiently.
  • Develop Master Treatment Plans (MTP) and continuing care plans with structured guidance.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling and rehabilitation services at a basic level (excluding dual or complex diagnoses).
  • Maintain detailed records of clients and services provided.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients' collaterals (e.g., probation officers, family, psychiatrists).

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree with 5 years' supervised mental health or SUD experience and obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor certification (CADC) within 2 years of hire; or a Bachelor's degree and Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor certification (CADC) in good standing with the State of
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Must have a valid driver's license, private automobile insurance and be insurable (when applicable).
