Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Purchasing Agent to work at our Granite City, IL office.

 

Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown to over 700 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health and primary care treatment to patients in Central and Southern Illinois. We provide fully integrated care for all of our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.

Responsibilities

  • Review all purchase requests and place orders.
  • Compile purchase documents for payment processing by Accounts payable.
  • Receive order and process for delivery.
  • Communicate order status to requisitioner.
  • Record and track purchases in Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintain monthly inventory cycle count in Excel.
  • Work with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies, quality, or delivery issues.
  • Maintain and administer petty cash funds and records.

Qualifications

  • Position requires
    • A high school diploma or GED with 4 years direct experience in purchasing/supply chain management;
    • Or an Associate’s degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain Management or related field with a minimum of 2 years direct experience in purchasing/supply chain management;
    • Or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must have working knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, internal customers, and vendors.
  • Must have high level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational and customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable and able to travel between agency locations and local vendors.
  • Must be able to lift/push up to 25 pounds.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
