Join Our Team as a Community Health Specialist! Are you passionate about increasing community education? We're seeking a talented Community Health Specialist to facilitate community training and distribute naloxone throughout McLean County, Illinois.

We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate overdose prevention trainings.
  • Distribute naloxone to community members and organizations.
  • Conduct outreach and engagement activities with community stakeholders. 
  • Travel throughout service area providing resources and education.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience in behavioral health, public health, or education.
  • Knowledge of prevention theory and research, program development, needs assessment and evaluation and community capacity building is required.
  • Experience in grant writing and budgeting is preferred.
  • Must have ability to provide leadership, handle large projects, and collaborate with others within the agency and community.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom and online reporting systems is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, be insurable, and have home internet connection.
  • Position requires ability to travel to schools and other locations in the site plan area.
  • Must be able to obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance.
