Starting pay: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour

Chestnut is seeking Behavioral Health Clinicians to join our growing team in Bloomington, Illinois. This opportunity is designed for bachelor's-level professionals and early career master's-level clinicians who are ready to build their clinical skills in a collaborative, recovery-oriented environment.

 

Our clinicians work alongside experienced professionals across outpatient, residential, integrated care, and justice-involved programs, serving adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments.
  • Partner with clients to develop individualized treatment, continuing care, and discharge plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational, therapeutic, and skills-based groups.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, recovery specialists, case managers, and community partners to coordinate client care.
  • Participate in court-involved and justice-related services when assigned.
  • Support interns, students, or other team members as appropriate.
  • Promote trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in every client interaction.
  • Uphold Chestnut's standards for customer service excellence while maintaining confidentiality of all client and organizational information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program and organizational needs.

Qualifications

 

Behavioral Health Clinician I

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and eligibility for agency vehicle insurance coverage.

Behavioral Health Clinician II

  • Bachelor's degree with five years of supervised mental health experience OR
  • Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field with fewer than 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and eligibility for agency vehicle insurance coverage.
