Overview

Rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing direct behavioral health services and working with school-aged children. This full-time position will work with students and families in the Unit 5 school district in Normal, IL.

Responsibilities

Evaluate clients’ and families’ needs and identify placement criteria. Develop initial and master treatment plans. Provide individual, family, and group counseling. Support students who may be simultaneously involved in substance use treatment or who are returning to school after residential treatment. Maintain contact with each client’s collaterals. Conduct classroom presentations and trainings as requested.  As a peer leader, informally advise staff and provide clinical guidance to less experienced staff.

 

Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field. Illinois LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT licensure required. Good organizational and communication skills. Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable. Basic computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Prefer experience with an electronic medical record (EMR).
