Gain valuable experience and gain insights into behavioral health as you work toward your degree. This internship is based in our Granite City, IL primary care setting, giving the successful candidate exposure to what it means to offer whole-person care.
Help facilitate integrated primary and behavioral health care. Respond to patient inquiries. Help patients to understand care processes and the financial aspects of behavioral health care, linking them to resources as needed. Screen clients for social determinants of health and make service referrals. Facilitate communication among patients, their families, and providers. Manage follow-up visits and ensure continuation of care. Arrange for language interpretation as needed.
Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, exercise science or related field; OR possession of a bachelors degree in any other field plus 2 years’ supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting. Basic computer skills including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record. BHWET students preferred.
