Responsibilities

As a Peer Recovery Specialist, your role is diverse and critical. You'll actively engage in linking individuals to recovery communities and ancillary services, encouraging sobriety-based activities, and providing ongoing support throughout their recovery journey. Advocacy on behalf of individuals with families, courts, and service systems is crucial, ensuring access, responsiveness, and protection of personal rights. Your contributions in coordinating services, completing necessary documentation, and promoting positive interactions within Chestnut and the broader community are fundamental.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years in recovery or a combination of experience and education totaling 5 years
  • Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) or preference for crisis intervention training
  • Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and insurability
  • Basic computer skills: MS Word, email, and electronic medical record (EMR) usage

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $19.00 - $20.00 an hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
