Engage clients in services prior to their treatment. Help individuals to identify personal strengths and barriers to achieving treatment and recovery goals and to develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery. Consult and encourage clients on concerns and achievements presented during the recovery process. Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services. Coordinate services with treatment team and other supports.
Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and five years of demonstrated recovery experience and/or engaged in a recovery network, Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), policing, mental health, substance use or other social service experience; or a bachelor’s degree; or a total of five years’ experience and college combined; or a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) for Missouri Services, Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) for Illinois Services, or a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the applicable state. Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable. Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and an electronic medical record (EMR).

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $19.00 - $20.00 per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
