Join Our Team as a Prevention Coordinator! Are you passionate about increasing community education? We're seeking a talented Prevention Coordinator to oversee and provide community training, distribute naloxone, and oversee prevention programming throughout McLean County, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and manage the local prevention projects in the McLean County service area.
  • Familiarity facilitating the Strategic Prevention Framework in a community.
  • Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of prevention and recovery support services/activities.
  • Oversee development, implementation, and analysis of process and outcome evaluations and community needs assessments.
  • Coordinate oversight of development and implementation of media activities with Chestnut Marketing & Communications Department.
  • Plan and develop grant and contract work plans and program activity budget management.
  • Oversee development and submission of program/grant contract reports.
  • Coordinate program meetings.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor staff and interns.
  • Participate and take leadership role in local, state and national advocacy groups/collaborations.
  • Develop annual program work plan for assigned location(s)/contract(s).
  • Fulfill agency responsibilities including staff development, monitoring research, participation in agency meetings and committees and other responsibilities as designated by supervisor.
  • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.
  • Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education or behavioral health related field with at least five (5) years’ experience in prevention; or a Master’s degree in education or behavioral health related field with at least three (3) years’ experience in prevention.
  • Requires good organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge regarding continuum of care, including understanding of prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services preferred.
  • Must have experience in coordinating community-based services and activities.
  • Knowledge, skills, and understanding of best practices, curriculum development, and community coalitions including Strategic Prevention Framework preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ supervisory experience preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $49,000 - $55,000 annual salary. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
