Overview

 

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to work with adult patients participating in our residential substance use treatment program. 

 

Hours include Monday through Friday 10:00 am 6:30 pm.  No nights or weekends! Sign-on and retention bonuses available! Tuition reimbursement and loan repayment opportunities are also available. 

 

Chestnut is committed to delivering high-quality residential treatment and supportive services for adults participating in residential substance use treatment and has been providing services in our community since the early 1970s.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the health care plan designed by the Practitioners.
  • Administer treatments and/or medication prescribed by Practitioners.
  • Interview clients for the purpose of gathering health history, nursing evaluation, admissions and discharges.
  • Administer and evaluate medical tests as appropriate.
  • Provide health teaching in both individual and group settings. 
  • Assess patients for acute physical issues.
  • Act as liaison between prescribers, consumers, laboratories, PCP’s, other healthcare providers, pharmacies and staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients in maintaining a therapeutic environment.
  • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have an active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Illinois.
  • Some knowledge of pharmacology and possible side effects of medications required.
  • Must be certified in CPR and maintain certification or become certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, Outlook, e-prescribing and an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $19.85 - $23.35 an hour for LPNs and $26.21 - $30.86 and hour for Nurses. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
