Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Recovery Integration Ambassador (RIA) to support individuals in their recovery journey by promoting engagement, connection, and access to community-based recovery services. This role focuses on outreach, education, and program development to help individuals successfully reintegrate into the community following treatment. The position includes collaboration with internal teams and community partners, as well as planning and facilitating recovery-focused events and services. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with current and former clients to provide education and encourage participation in community integration and recovery services
  • Conduct outreach to individuals after discharge and maintain consistent engagement, aiming to connect with at least 50% of interested individuals monthly
  • Plan, organize, and promote recovery-focused events, groups, and activities within Chestnut and the community
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to coordinate events, services, and community service opportunities
  • Collect, track, and report program data to measure outcomes and support continuous program improvement
  • Complete assessments, including IM-CANS, substance use, and crisis assessments, when assigned
  • Provide individual, group, family, and educational services to support recovery and community reintegration
  • Participate in meetings, supervision, trainings (including Relias), and program development activities
  • Support team members and provide backup assistance as needed
  • Promote trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in all interactions, emphasizing hope, respect, empowerment, and wellness
  • Demonstrate strong customer service by following Chestnut’s behavioral standards in all interactions
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect all client and organizational information
    Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree, Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) and 5 years’ mental health, substance use or other social service experience, or a combination of college and experience; OR a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field with less than 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
  • Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable, preferred
  • Must have personal recovery experience and be willing to appropriately discuss his/her own recovery journey
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, email, and use of an electronic medical record (EMR)

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 an hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
