Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Housing Administration Specialist to support the Housing Administration program by overseeing eligibility screening, referrals, and coordination for all of Chestnut’s housing programs. This full-time position is based in Madison, IL, working Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The role involves managing internal waitlists, coordinating with Madison County’s Coordinated Entry system, assisting with admissions and discharges, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and community partners.

This full-time position will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at our Madison, IL location.

 

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 an hour.

 

There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity

Responsibilities

• Screen potential housing applicants based on eligibility and funding criteria across Chestnut’s housing programs
• Manage all housing referrals, maintain internal waitlists, and coordinate with Madison County’s Coordinated Entry system
• Conduct applicant interviews and oversee tenant move-ins and move-outs in coordination with facilities, purchasing, and clinical staff
• Provide consumer-driven support, including linking clients to community resources and assisting with case management
• Address property management and tenant issues, including inspections, landlord/tenant concerns, IT requests, and monitoring non-payment of rent
• Respond to phone inquiries and provide professional, warm, and welcoming customer service to prospective and current tenants
• Maintain accurate data entry across multiple systems, including internal databases, electronic health records, and housing program records
• Engage and communicate with clients to provide ongoing support and maintain positive relationships
• Promote trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care, including hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness

Qualifications

  •  Must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ supervised mental health experience;
  • OR a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field with less than 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR) Effective communication with employees, consumers, potential consumers, and support systems.
  • Ability to respond effectively and calmly in conflict or emotional situations.
  • Good keyboarding skills.
  • Data entry experience – preferably with an electronic health record or electronic billing system.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and use of office equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and be insurable.
