Chestnut Health Systems is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Community Outreach Representative to serve as an ambassador for Chestnut at community events such as health fairs. This PRN (scheduled as needed) is scheduled based on events that Chestnut Health Systems is registered to attend in the community, which often take place during evening and/or weekend hours, and is ideal for individuals passionate about behavioral health advocacy, community engagement, and connecting people with valuable resources.

 

The Community Outreach Representative will be responsible for attending events on behalf of Chestnut Health Systems, such as health fairs, community education events, block parties, etc., and staffing Chestnut Health Systems booths or display tables to provide information about services and programs, engaging with community members, and help to increase awareness of resources. During the event, this representative will interact with community members and share basic Chestnut information about Chestnut services and/or resources, count the number of interactions that occur, and communicate with their supervisor any follow-up or questions.

 

Compensation:

 

The anticipated pay for this position is $20.00 per hour. Compensation is based on job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.

 

If you are a current Chestnut employee, compensation is handled through the existing stiped program for event participation. Please contact the Director of Marketing to discuss your interest.  

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization at community events.
  • Set up, maintain, and dismantle informational booths and displays.
  • Distribute educational materials and resources related to all Chestnut programs.
  • Engage professionally with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations.
  • Answer general questions about the organization’s mission, services, and programs.
  • Collect community feedback and document event interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of event attendance and outreach activities.
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers, displaying smiling, patient, pleasant, and friendly actions.
  • Promote the trauma informed, recovery model of treatment including hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness and spirituality/connectedness in every communication.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and email.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to events.
  • Ability to lift and carry outreach materials and displays (up to 25 pounds).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, or climb stairs or step stools as necessary to set up or take down display materials.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual
  • Previous experience in community outreach, customer service, healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit work.
