Mental Health Clinician (Evenings)

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Housing Clinician to provide recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health services to individuals involved in housing programs. This role supports consumers in achieving stability, wellness, and independence through individualized, consumer-driven services delivered in both office and community-based settings.

The Housing Clinician plays a critical role in assessments, treatment planning, service delivery, and coordination with community and internal partners, particularly those supporting housing stability and substance use recovery.

This full-time position will work Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm at our Fairview Heights, IL location.

Direct Clinical Care & Interventions

• Evidence-Based Therapy: Facilitate individual, family, and group sessions utilizing validated, evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each client's unique recovery and safety goals.

• Person-Centered & Trauma-Informed Approach: Apply a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework in all clinical interactions, incorporating positive, recovery-focused language across verbal interventions and treatment planning.

• Community-Based Delivery: Provide flexible direct service delivery within client-centered, community-based environments to eliminate barriers to care.

Assessment & Care Coordination

• Comprehensive Care Planning: Complete timely clinical assessments, diagnostic updates, and individualized recovery plans to maintain continuity of care without gaps in service.

• Care Coordination & Advocacy: Act as a central link to essential community resources (e.g., housing, substance use treatment) and manage administrative requirements, including obtaining service authorizations and monitoring referral progress.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage actively with internal care teams, external service providers, and clients’ personal support networks to create aligned, outcome-driven care plans.

Documentation & Operational Compliance

• Timely Documentation: Maintain accurate, real-time medical records by completing at least 80% of progress notes within 48 hours of service delivery.

• Productivity & Scheduling: Manage a balanced direct-service schedule to meet target productivity standards while preserving high standards of individual client care.

• Confidentiality & Standards: Strictly uphold HIPAA guidelines, code of ethics, and organization-wide confidentiality protocols regarding all client records and communications.

Professional Growth & Team Engagement

• Clinical Supervision & Continuing Education: Participate in regular clinical supervision, complete required ongoing trainings, and earn continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain clinical competencies.

• Team Participation: Attend staff meetings, contribute to peer case consultations, and support team members during coverage needs while pursuing professional leadership opportunities.

• Must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ supervised mental health experience;
• OR a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field with less than 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable
• Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR) Effective communication with employees, consumers, potential consumers, and support systems.
• Ability to respond effectively and calmly in conflict or emotional situations.
• Good keyboarding skills.
• Data entry experience – preferably with an electronic health record or electronic billing system.
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and use of office equipment.
• Must have a valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and be insurable

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 an hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
